About the Design
Part 1 - January to June
The 2012 Team Saxo kit is a design in 2 parts. From Jan to Jun the team's main sponsor was Saxo Bank. From Jun to Dec the main sponsorship duties were split between Saxo Bank and Tinkoff Bank Credit Systems.
The Saxo Bank kit's colour palette was Saxo Bank blue, black and white. The Saxo Bank name is rendered stacked in a square on the chest while the word Saxo is diagonal on the rear of the jersey. The Saxo Bank name is also rendered on the shoulders as well as down the sides of the jersey in white only inline.
The design detail of the Eagle of Herning rendered in dark blue, light blue and white with the wing wrapping around the jersey starting from the right side of the chest. The eagle's head dominates the bottom left quadrant of the jersey. The bibshorts are dark blue with light blue panels on the sides. The main sposors are rendered in white on the fron and side of the bibshorts in white with the stacked, boxed Saxo Bank logo replicated on the rear of the shorts for maximum sponsor exposure.
Part 2 - June to December
For the second part of the year Tinkoff Bank Credit Systems joined as co-title sponsor of the team and brought its victory yellow colour to the design colour palette.
The yellow colour is introduced as a coloured band around the collar awhile the lower half of the jersey is now also yellow. The two main sponsors have a shoulder space each. Saxo Bank remains on the chest of the jersey while Tinkoff bank and their crest is rendered on the yellow below the Saxo Bank name. The two coloured areas of blue and yellow are split by a nod to the eagle of Herning wing design detail. The diagonal Saxo word remains on the rear of the jersey but is now joined by the name Tinkoff rendered also in white just below. The bib shorts are dark blue with yellow leg ends. The sponsors are rendered in white with the "wing" design detail also used on the bibshorts rendered in blue and yellow.
