Castelli was born from a fine tailoring company based in Milan and started in 1876. The first cycling clothing was made by Castelli in the 1910s for the world champion and five-time Giro champion Alfredo Binda. The famous Castelli Scorpion logo was introduced in 1974. Anders Bengtsson, the founder of Craft, had the original idea to develop underwear, which draws moisture away from the skin, while undertaking physical activity. Etxeondo started smal in a workshop located in Billabona, in the Basque Country. Etxeondo was founded by Francisco Rodrigo who started in high fashion, working for leading brands including Dior and Balenciaga Francisco had a great love of cycling which inspired him to make a range of cycling clothing that would not only be functional but would also look good.
Today Etxeondo is still a family run business. Etxeondo clothing is still designed in Irura and manufactured in Castejon in Navarra, the home region of the Miguel Indurain.

Giordana Cycling Apparel was started in 1971. by Giorgio Andretta.
A new brand was created and named after Giorgio's newborn daughter, Giordana. Giordana was born in 1979. The famous Sagittarius logo was created in 1980. In 1983 Giordana introduced sublimation printed jerseys. In 1991 Giordana sponsored the Motorola professional cycling team. In 1995 Giordana was the official clothing supplier for the Tour de France providing stage winners and the 82nd Tour winner, Miguel Indurain, with Giordana jerseys.

Santini SMS started in 1993 to provide the pink jersey for the Giro d'Italia. Olindo & Irma Cremonese, from Asolo in Italy moved to the Dolomites in 1946 to start a business. Sportful’s story began in 1972 due to their son's interest in cross country skiing.
