For the 2013 season, the Team Sky kit used the same established branding and colour palette of black, blue and white. This kit gives the feel of simplicity and non design but being one of the most designed kits in the peloton. The black coloured base for the jersey and the bibshorts is a good canvas to start from, although in France in July the riders may very well disagree with this.
The design elements come by way of sparingly used touches of blue details. A single blue band is used on the left sleeve and leg of the bibshorts. The blue line on the back of the kit is kept, known in Team Sky as the thin blue line. The inside of the collar has the slogan believe in better written in white on the blue colour background. Small details such as this really lift the design.
The kit is kept clean compared to other kits with the main sponsors logos rendered in white on the middle of the chest, back and shoulders of the jersey while also being rendered on the bibshorts side panels. The colour scheme and design touches are replicated on the bike making a very strong brand image.
This kit stands out alot with its simplistic, clean and sparse design. Simple yet stylish.
