About the Design
2017 was the first year that Castelli provided the kit for Team Sky after they seperated from previous kit manufacturer Rapha. The kit still utilises the established black, light blue and white colour scheme.
However, for their first kit Castelli added a geometric lined pattern which is based on the teams wins and the durations of those races. So the longer the race the longer the line.
The thin blue line still exists on the back of the kit with the sponsors rendered in white lettering. The main Sky sponsor is still large on the chest.
In addition to the black kit there is a light blue kit for training. This kit is the same as the normal black kit with white lettering and line on the back of the kit on the light blue background colour.
The Castelli scorpion logo can now be seen on the kit and this stand out due to its red background. For the 2017 Tour de France Castelli produced an inversion of the normal kit. The jersey is white with black lettering with the thin blue line on the back with the main sponsors logos rendered in white.
The geometric line pattern is carried over onto the Pinarello team bikes.
