About the Design
For the 2018 season Team Astana has maintained the established colour palette. This season the yellow bands have been used on both sleeves and the collar as opposed to last season's choice of using yellow bands on only one sleeve and leg end The leg ends of the bibshorts are the aqua colour with a thin yellow band around the upper part of the aqua band.
2017 introduced a fading aqua to black gradient at the bottom of the jersey. This idea is kept but is toned down alot by using a hexagonal repating pattern that is black instead of the solid gradient colour.
The subtle hexagonal pattern is also used on the side panels of the bibshorts giving an interesting design detail to break up the solid black panels. The sponsors are rendered for the most part in dark blue on the shoulders, upper chest, jersey sides and yellow bands on the sleeve ends. The exception to this is the Samruk name which is rendered in a golden colour and on the other leg of the bibshorts the Astana name is rendered in white.
As it is for a few other teams, the 2018 kit is more of a variation on last season's theme than a new design.
