For the 2018 season FDJ has become Groupama FDJ. This change will take effect in March 2018 in time for this seasons Paris Nice race. Groupama are no strangers to world tour cycling as they sponsored Gan cycling team in the 1990s. Gan, being one of their brands. The colour palette for the Groupama/FDJ team remains the French tricolor of red, white and blue.
The jersey is divided into three sections vertically left side and sleeve, torso, right side and sleeve. The collar is blue with the FDJ name and logo replicated here. The right sleeve is blue with a white diagonal line pattern while the left sleeve is red also with the diagonal pattern. The sleeve ends are both red. The white torso of the jersey has the Groupama name and logo on the upper chest while the FDJ logo and name is just below the Groupama name. The diagonal repeating line pattern is duplicated on either side of the jersey both front and back with a thin blue solid line of colour around the bottom. This ties the jersey into the blue panels on the front and back of the bibshorts. The other sponsors and names are rendered black on white quite high on the upper chest, almost directly below the collar.
The bibshorts are blue with white panels on the front/sides with smaller white panels on the back with red bands around the leg ends. The main sponsors names are rendered down the side in white between the white panels. The diagonal line repeating pattern flows down from the jersey into the larger front white panels on the bibshorts. The champions kits are once again largely devoid of sponsors names and logos keeping them "clean" with only the champions country colours standing out.
This seasons' Groupama/FDJ kit has some interesting design touches to set it apart from the previous FDJ kit versions and successfully marks the onboarding of the new sponsor, Groupama.
