About the design
For the 2018 season the main sponsor and colour palette changed for the Mitchelton Scott team. Mitchelton was substituted for Orica and the colour palette became black, yellow and white. Black replaced the previous dark blue.
The jersey is black with a yellow panel that stretches from the sleeve over the shoulders, round the collar and down the other sleeve. Thin bands of yellow are on the sleeve and leg ends of the jersey and bibshorts.
The sponsors names and logos are either rendered in black on yellow, white on black or yellow on black. The Mitchelton logo rendered in white and takes top billing followed by the yellow Scott name just below it. The sponsors are present in multiple positions on the kit front, side and back on both the jersey and bibshorts.
One design element introduced this season is a triangular repeating pattern that fades in density of the numbers of triangles used from bottom to top is used on the bottom and sleeves of the jersey. This provides an interesting visual design detail that breaks up, what would have otherwise been, plain solid coloured panels. It is subtle enough to not overpower or make the kit look too busy.
Some intersting design elements on this seasons version of this kit but it does hark back to the largely black trend that was prevalent in the peloton in previous seasons.
