About the Design
For the 2018 season Trek have opted for a new kit supplier, Santini. The established colour palette of red, white and black remains as does the design element of the established pin stripes but the design has been given a new twist for the 2018 season. The jersey is now completely red with all sponsors rendered in only white. The pin stripes run the entire length of the jersey but are still subtle. The sleeve ends still have white bands but the width of the bands have been increased. Using only red and white colouring for all sponsors gives the jersey a minimal but very polised look and feel. The bibshorts are very similar to last season's but the red and white bands around the leg ends are replaced with wider red bands. The subtle pin stripes are also kept on the bibshorts.
A training version of the kit has again been produced this season, but like the race jersey, the training jersey is completely fluro yellow with red sleeve ends instead of white. The sponsors on the training jersey are rendered in black lettering as opposed to white. Santini has also produced off bike wear that replicates the pin stipes, this time white on grey or black. The logos are embroidered as opposed to heat transfers giving these items a premium feel.
A strong, polished and well thought out design that utilises the use of limiting colours to great effect.
