The 2021 season brings a new joint major sponsor to the newly named Ag2r Citroen Team as well as a fresh new look. Sadly though the brown bibshorts do remain courtesy of the Ag2r light blue, white and brown company branding. The jersey is now an all white affair with the two main sponsors diagonally rendered across the jersey front and back, with Ag2r in brown and Citroen in red. The new bike supplier, BMC, is rendered in black on the upper chest,back of the neck and sleeve ends. The kit supplier Rosti's logo is also on the upper chest and above the back pocket. A nice design detail inside the collar is a red, blue and brown repeating square pattern made up of brown, blue and red squares. This can also be seen on the inner face of the podium cap visor and the neck warmer. This design detail could maybe also have been better used on the sleeves, back pockets or sides of the jersey to break up the plain white base and give some more design visual interest. The brown bibshorts harken back to previous kit itterations with the sponsors rendered in white on the brown background. The new bikes are also white with a red top to the top tube. The design is simple but clean. Special versions of the jersey for Greg Van Avermart have gold sleeve end bands, while Naesen has the Belgium colours on his jersey sleeve ends. If this kit stands out in the peloton or not its a matter of opinion. The designers opted for a cleaner look higlighting the main sponsors but you cant help but feel this design has the potential to be so much more. If they can just get rid of those brown bibshorts...
