About the designs
The Trek Bikes/Bontrager team created a special version of their kit to mark the retirement of fan favourite, Jens Voigt. In 2014 the Trek kit was black, grey and white with small touches of red in the Trek logo. The pin stripes were prominent on the jersey and bibshorts. This was the basis of the farewell Jens kit. The special jersey supported the words "Farewell Fans!" on the rear while the bibshorts supported the message, "One Last Time".
The bike, shoes and helmet were metallic, shiny silver in colour. The bike and helmet had bands of colour that represented Jens' home country of germany, Jens's family members, races Jens won and teams Jens rode for. A nice touch was that the SRM power meter also was silver with "One Last Time" written on the front.
Jens's special Farewell Trek bike had what became Jens's catchphrase of Shut Up Legs! on the top tube along with the coloured band sequence. On the down tube there was also a count of the souls crushed. The coloured band motif was also used on the front forks of the bike. The inside facade of the tubes on the bike at the rear wheel had various phrases, names and stats from Jens' career.
