80 Days Around the World
Scottish endurance athlete, Mark Beaumont, attempterd and successfully completed a cycle around the world in 80 days. This phenomenal achievement was actually done in 78 days 14 hours 40 minutes.
Mark's kit for the endeavour was white and dark blue, which was a nod to Mark's Scottish nationality. The jersey has white shoulders and upper chest fading to a dark blue section on the bottom half of the jersey. As in pro peloton kits the sponsors dominate the chest, collar, sleeves, sides and back of the jersey. The kit sponsor and Mark's name are rendered on the left chest in dark blue on a white background. The Altura name is also rendered on the blue bands on the sleeve and leg ends of the kit. A world map rendered in white took pride of place on the bottom blue section of the jersey. The bibshorts had the blue to white gradient fade on the side panels, with sponsors rendered on these side panels. An 80 days logo with the 0 of the 80 being a globe was used on various places on the kit and on the bike. A very nice little design detail that encapsulates the endeavour very well.
The bike, supplied by Koga, was a bronze colour with white and dark blue detailing to mirror the Scottish national colours again as a nod to Mark's Scottish nationality. The top tube is white with a white 80 days logo on the front tube. The top tube also has the 80 days logo rendered in blue on the white top tube along with Mark's signature also rendered in blue.
