2019 is the inaugural edition of the UAE Tour. Previously, 2 stage races were held in the United Arab Emirates being the Tour of Abu Dhabi and the Tour of Dubai. These two stage races have combined for what will be an exciting race that now includes the climbs of Jebel Hafeet and Jebel Jais as well as the sting in the tail summit finish to Hatta Dam.
The classifiction jersesys for the inaugural edition of the UAE Tour are provided by Italian company Castelli. The designs of the jerseys are based on a lined design motif incorporating black lined patterns interspersed with gold lines. The collar and sleeves have bands of colour with a gold band on both the sleeves and collar.
The UAE Tour logo is on the chest of the jerseys and the sleeve ends of the jerseys. Each jersey has the main sponsor logo on the chest of the jerseys while the Castelli name is rendered on the shoulders. The UAE Tour logo incorporates the Tour trophy which is a heptagon and is made of 24 carrot gold! The trophy is manufactured and designed by the Italian manufacturer GDE Bertoni, who also provides the Fifa World Cups. There are 4 categories of classification jersey. The red jersey represents the overall race leader. The Green jersey represents the sprinters points competition leader while the white jersey represents the best placed young rider. Finally the black jersey represnts the leader of the intermediate sprints competition.
